DESCRIPTION: This special populations course provides a comprehensive guide to the treatment of women who abuse substances. Practical treatment interventions are described that meet the unique needs of substance abusing women. Included are methods for engaging and retaining in treatment women from diverse backgrounds, treating women involved in the criminal justice system, victims of abuse, women with disabilities and lesbian women. Discusses program management issues specific to womens treatment.
